Casey Kaufman is a Brooklyn based photographic and multi-media artist and teacher whose current work investigates Jewish history and narratives that are not assimilated in American and Western historical cannons.
Casey is an experienced portrait and landscape photographer with an affinity for older cameras and film processes. He has since shifted to a conceptual photo practice following his MFA at Parsons in NYC, focusing on investigating his family's Jewish history as a vehicle for understanding how certain narratives become part of national history and how others get left in the past. While photography is his medium of choice, Casey has utilized a mix of materials to create objects that sit between photography and sculpture.
